heal WITH oprah

Hi, my name is Oprah Zeon, your guide to thriving with Chronic Pain & Illness.

If you are anything like me, life is having more ups and downs than you ever imagined. You feel as if you have done something wrong to God and He continues to punish you repeatedly. Loss after loss you may even question your existence on this Earth.

As a result of my personal experience, I've discovered a profound truth: amidst the trials and tribulations, there lies a hidden purpose waiting to be unveiled.

As your therapist my goal is to help you overcome:

The heartache, pain, confusion, and self-esteem issues living with chronic pain/illness, anxiety, trauma, and depression brings. I understand the intricate complexities of these struggles.

It wasn’t until I changed the way I looked at my situation that I felt a shift, a positive one. I stopped allowing the diagnoses I was diagnosed with, to define who I was as a person.

I help those feeling discouraged about their condition, feel hopeful again.

my therapy approach

Cognitive behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), my aim is to help you reframe those negative thought patterns and equip you with the tools and coping strategies necessary to overcome the constant whirlwind of emotions, obstacles, and conflicts you are experiencing, and help you embrace new beginnings with unwavering confidence.

Person-Centered Therapy

My approach to therapy is Client-Centered and rooted in collaboration. Together, we'll navigate your journey, creating a safe and nurturing space where you can authentically be yourself. I believe that being truly seen, heard, and understood without judgment is a transformative experience—one that I am committed to providing in every session.

My professional journey

With a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Valdosta State University, I embarked on a career journey driven by a passion for mental health advocacy and support. My professional odyssey began as a Mental Health Technician, where I dedicated a year to serving at-risk youth, gaining invaluable firsthand experience in the field. This hands-on exposure propelled me into a Master's program at Mercer University School of Medicine, where I immersed myself in diverse internship opportunities. During this transformative period, I honed my skills working with individuals grappling with chronic pain/illness, grief/loss, depression, and anxiety in settings ranging from hospices to medical hospitals.

Following graduation, armed with a license as a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, I delved into the realm of Social Services Counseling at a psychiatric hospital. Here, I conducted both individual and group therapy sessions, witnessing firsthand the profound impact of therapeutic intervention on individuals' lives. A testament to my dedication and leadership, I ascended to supervising the Child/Adolescent Partial Hospitalization/Intensive Outpatient Programs, where I spearheaded the development of a pioneering curriculum.

Eager to expand my horizons, I transitioned to a role at an insurance company, where I delved into concurrent reviews, case management, and eventually assumed the mantle of Crisis Hotline Manager. In parallel, I nurtured my entrepreneurial spirit, establishing a thriving private practice where I continue to provide compassionate care to clients. Additionally, my role as a Mobile Assessor allowed me to extend my reach, providing crucial support to individuals grappling with mental health challenges in the community.  Throughout my career, I've remained steadfast in my commitment to fostering healing, resilience, and empowerment in those I serve. With a blend of academic knowledge, clinical expertise, and unwavering compassion, I strive to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals and families facing mental health struggles.

turning my pain into purpose

How did I land in this field? It was really God. I wanted to be a Neurosurgeon, but through prayer, God landed me here and it was the best decision ever. Through my transformation, I have a passion to see others thriving in their purpose despite the mess the devil throws their way and the pain they feel. What I love about working in this field is the profound impact I can have on individuals' lives. It's incredibly rewarding to witness the transformation and resilience of my clients as we navigate through challenges together.

The opportunity to empower individuals to challenge negative thought patterns, build resilience, and cultivate healthier ways of coping is both humbling and inspiring. Moreover, the trust and connection formed with each client, as we collaboratively work towards their goals, fuels my passion for this work. Ultimately, being able to make a positive difference in someone's life, helping them navigate through adversity and discover their strengths, is what drives my dedication to this field every day.

This world needs exactly what God has created you to be and I am your personal cheerleader, cheering you on no matter how small you think the win is. I want you to know that you got this!
