FAQs

how do i know if therapy is right for me?

Deciding whether therapy is right for you can be a personal decision. However, therapy can be beneficial for those who are experiencing emotional pain and distress due to their physical pain and illness. We find that our clients especially benefit from having an outlet to talk about their diagnosis and the implications it’s had on their life with a neutral party who isn’t committed to simply “cheering you up” or will experience their own distress by knowing the extent of your struggles.

If you're unsure whether therapy is suitable for your situation, we encourage you to schedule a consultation with one of our experienced therapists to discuss your concerns and explore your options.

Is Therapy Confidential?

Yes, therapy is confidential, and your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. Our therapists adhere to strict ethical guidelines and legal regulations regarding confidentiality. Information shared during therapy sessions is kept confidential unless there is a risk of harm to yourself or others, or as otherwise required by law. We prioritize creating a safe and trusting environment where you can openly discuss your concerns without fear of judgment or disclosure.

What if you don’t accept my insurance?

If you don't have insurance or if your insurance doesn't cover therapy, we offer flexible payment options like accepting payment from HSA and FSA accounts to accommodate your needs. Additionally, some clients choose to pay for therapy out of pocket for reasons such as privacy or convenience. During your initial consultation, we can discuss our fee structure and explore alternative payment arrangements if necessary.

What should I consider when using insurance?

When using insurance for therapy, it's essential to consider factors such as coverage limitations, copayments or coinsurance amounts, deductibles, and any required authorizations or referrals. We recommend contacting your insurance provider directly to verify your coverage for mental health services and to understand your financial responsibilities. Our team is also available to assist you in navigating the insurance process and maximizing your benefits.
